Sales Target is setting your goal for a specific period which will generate revenue or any other specific purpose.

Key parameters to be considered in Target settings are

Achievable
Ambitious
Realistic
Measurable


Achievable: Any target has to be achievable otherwise the interest in achieving targets will be lost. After a certain period of time if we find that target is beyond your reach then nobody aim in reaching the target.

Ambitious: Ambitious targets will make the team stretch and do extra effort to achieve targets. Achievable targets will make the team work less than the previous period

Realistic: Any target has to be based on the market potential and available market study. The target cannot be based on some value but it has to be realistic that can be achieved

Measurable: Any target has to be measurable in the stipulated time. Any target which is not measurable will have different versions of achievement. People will use it based on their convenience.

Once a proper target is set then we need to have a plan to achieve and a review mechanism to review in a periodic manner so that necessary action can be taken
